GPS Source signs contract with CAMT, NIST-MEP, and NAVAIR.
GPS Source, a specialist in avionics systems development and GPS/RF technology, announced today the award of a contract to complete a detailed study of the engineering activities necessary to deliver a complete technical data package for the design of the Heads Up Display (HUD) for the T-45 Goshawk trainer aircraft. This study will be sponsored by CAMT, NIST-MEP, and NAVAIR.
GPS Source is pleased to announce that they will complete by the end of this year, a detailed study of the engineering activities necessary to deliver a complete technical data package for the design of the Heads Up Display (HUD) for the T-45 Goshawk trainer aircraft. This all-encompassing study will include data collection, data evaluation, requirements development and capture, as well as the development of initial engineering cost-estimates and schedules. Robert Horton, CEO of GPS Source, said, “We look forward to the exciting challenges this opportunity creates for our R&D team. Our competencies in avionics systems development are well suited to the challenges of producing design and manufacturing engineering documentation for complex avionics electronic equipment.”
NAVAIR provides full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated by Naval Aviators and Marines. NAVAIR supports the T-45 Goshawk, a fully carrier-capable version of the Hawk Mk. 60 developed for the Navy and Marines jet flight training. There are over 200 in service and the Navy plans on continuing to use them for at least 30 more years. Information about NAVAIR can be found at www.navair.navy.mil/.
NIST is a non-regulatory agency of the Commerce Department that promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life. NIST’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is America’s leading resource for helping U.S. manufacturers use innovation to grow their profitability as they compete for customers in the global marketplace. Information about NIST and MEP can be found at http://www.nist.gov/mep/.
Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology (CAMT) is the NIST MEP affiliate in Colorado. It is a statewide manufacturing assistance center dedicated to increasing the competitiveness of Colorado manufacturers. Information about CAMT can be found athttp://www.camt.com/.
